              About Classical Acupuncture

Classical acupuncture is steeped in the teachings of Taoism, ( the way). It’s practice can be traced back over 2000 years since when it has been at the heart of traditional Chinese medical treatment alongside Herbal medicine.

As a medical application of Taoism, the emphasis of treatment is to maintain harmony and balance in the changing world around us. To calm the mind and to nurture the body in time with the rhythms of the seasons.

It is the most profound and holistic system of acupuncture based on a diagnostic system known as The 5 elements.

I have based my practice in this system since qualifying in 1981.

I find it to be the most ‘life enhancing’ approach, practiced alongside using acupuncture to treat common conditions such as pain, tiredness, poor energy, stress related conditions such as anxiety, depression and many more.

It also works well with other therapies offered at CHHC, often enhancing their efficacy.

At the first consultation I will take a full case history, discussing your present health issues and concerns, as well as any past accidents or illnesses which may affect your present condition. in order to plan a holistic treatment programme for you, it is important to gain as much understanding as possible about your physical, mental and emotional health and lifestyle.

it would be helpful if you bring a list of current medications and details of relevant surgery or other interventions.
